In addition to certifying products as organic, the QAI team also takes a more hands-on approach to farming. Several QAI staff members volunteer at Wild Willow Farm and Education Center, a six-acre working farm in San Diego that grows vegetables, greens, medicinal and culinary herbs, and cover crops. During the most recent visit in April, the group helped clear out an old irrigation system that was no longer being used, and individual team members weeded, composted and tilled a hoop house to prepare it for planting kale.
